The sun shone for the perfect backdrop to Ryan and Rebecca's wedding at the fabulous Horton Grange Country House Hotel in Northumberland. I met with Ryan and Rebecca and prepared a music plan for their whole wedding day. They started the day as guests arrived with acoustic piano covers. Then for the ceremony:
For the drinks reception there was a good mix of upbeat celebratory songs including soul, motown and swing The soundtrack to the wedding breakfast was a mix of acoustic cover songs featuring artists like Boyce Avenue. The evening celebration got underway with a rousing welcome followed by a cake cutting and First Dance to the Perfect by Ed Sheeran and Beyonce. A good mix of music ensured there was something for everyone including a song by the Brides brothers group. Mr Brightside a special song for both the Bride and Groom. Lots of 90's pop and clubland classics also featured and winding up the night as requested to the Dirty Dancing Megamix. Afterwards Ryan had this to say "Booked Ian for our wedding night time do. He also done all of the music for the entire day and has the added bonus of taking pics on the night time which is a nice way to look back at the party. I cannot recommend him highly enough." Fantastic night and many congratulations to the new Mr & Mrs Graham #WeddingDJNorthumberland #WeddingDJNorthEast #HortonGrangeCountryHouseHotel

Over the years I've presided over many weddings but this one was really special. I planned this one to perfection with Andrew and Angela meeting them at their home on two occasions and exchanging numerous emails as everything was refined up to the day of the wedding itself. Despite the planning there was an awful lot of improvisation on the day as I reacted to the mood and what was happening the result was magical. We hoped for an outside wedding as it was nearing the end of September but planned for an indoor ceremony just in case. As it happens the sun came out after a few days of rain and all was well.
